Turning into from either Saldanha or Vredenburg you will be rewarded with beauty and tranquility. Jacobsbaai is halfway between Vredenburg and Saldanha, just off the scenic coastal R27. Jacobsaai is a beautiful and unspoilt West Coast Village with a breathtaking 2km of Coastline, with rocky and sandy bays, with lime washed houses set against a cobalt ocean. As you cross over the hill on the downward slope towards Jacobsbaai, you will become aware of the immense force of the ocean and the little village that nestles against the shore.
Jacobsbaai is popular for whale watching and bird-lovers will be rewarded with an abundance of birdlife. Jacobsbaai has seven individual bays, namely Kwaaibaai which is popular with surfers, Jacobsbaai, Smalbaai and Moerie se baai which are great for launching boats from and Bamboesbaai and Toothrock are used for diving and fishing.
One of five trails developed in the West Coast Biosphere Reserve, the Five Bay Trail explores the coast between the fishing villages of Paternoster and Jacobsbaai.
